This Gena Kuwan stoneware rounded teapot is as functional as it is beautiful. Its stunning organic marbled swirl design comes from mixing dark Kuro-Neri soil with a lighter Sheri-Neri soil which is then hand-spun on a wheel and fired in a white-hot kiln, giving it a strong structure despite its delicate appearance. The built-in handcrafted sieve is perfect for steeping loose-leaf teas for yourself or to share with another in one of the Gena Kuwan cups.

History: 
The Gena Kuwan brand is a concept thought up by MISHIM designer Makiko Doi. Through her stoneware designs, she tells the story of a female sculptor named Gena Kuwan and her atelier who creates "vessels that resemble the work of a sculptor, with both strength and suppleness." To create Gena's pieces, Doi partners with Nankei Touen, a family-run ceramic shop Yokkaichi City whose products are all handmade by specialist Artisans.

Care Instructions:
Clean with a soft sponge and mild soap. Dry immediately to prevent molding.
Microwave safe. Do not put in the oven.

 

 

 

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
